Grounds Development

We work closely with grounds development company Rooted Structures to imagine and create inspiring school and nursery Outdoor Learning and playspaces.

Using natural materials, locally sources timber and a lot of creative imagination, the aim of Rooted Structures is to engage children with their outdoor spaces in a real and meaningful way.

Forest School and Outdoor Learning Programmes

We work with Herefordshire based company Rooted Forest School to provide blocks of Forest School sessions or one-off events to Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Special Schools, Community Groups, Private Organisations, Charities and Individuals. Rooted Forest School also offers residential school visits, birthday parties, holiday clubs and a range of other services.

Beyond the UK

Cambium is building links to Forest School and Outdoor Learning outside the UK.

Anney Thornton Wood, the founder of Cambium has spent time in China and in Finland, and Sam returned in September 2018 from his third period of training and conferences in China, visiting regions as far apart as Inner Mongolia, Zhejiang and Guangdong. We are now working on linking up with national and local organisations in several other countries including Turkey and Chile, helping to provide training materials and qualification frameworks.

Supporting Learning Online

Cambium Trainers and Learners have their own online support area, based on the widely used Moodle Learning Environment.

In addition to providing resources and reinforcing practical learning, trainers can create their own areas to support groups of students.
