Course Summary:
This 3-day course is for anyone who wants to deliver inspiring learning and play sessions in a coastal environment. It’s especially useful for Forest School Leaders wanting to upskill and develop their practice.
During the course, you’ll learn to read tides and consider other health and safety issues specific to coastal areas. You’ll learn to conduct risk assessments to understand marine hazards and manage plastic pollution. You’ll be supported with the development of your own Coastal School handbook, including the policies and procedures you’ll need.
You’ll learn practical ideas and activities for successful Coastal School sessions and understand how to lead them effectively. In line with the Coastal School approach, you’ll plan activities that are suitable for your own coastal environment and learn practical outdoor skills, such as building beach fires and shelters that are appropriate for your location.
This qualification can be delivered as a top-up unit for Forest School Level 3 practitioners or as a stand alone course. Contact us for more details.
