Forest School Training and Outdoor Learning Training across the UK
Cambium Sustainable Newsletter - Spring 2024
Welcome to our spring edition!
Spring! We're noticing lots of budding trees and plants, blossom and all sorts of wildlife appearing - just not much sun peeping through the clouds or much warmth!
Either way, we continue to bring you interesting Forest School and Outdoor Learning information, links to our Associate Trainers' courses, research, studies and articles that we think you'll enjoy.

“Grow ecosystems, don't just plant trees!” says new Imperial report on nature." Kathryn Brown, Director of Climate Change and Evidence at The Wildlife Trusts, said that there is a lack of recognition of the link between climate and nature: "UK policy needs to focus on growing ecosystems, not just planting trees, according to new research from the Hitachi-Imperial Centre."
“Do you ever get that feeling that there aren’t enough hours in the day? That time is somehow racing away from you, and it is impossible to fit everything in. But then, you step outside into the countryside and suddenly everything seems slower, more relaxed, like time has somehow changed.”
“Children’s Forest is a movement to support children and their communities to reconnect with nature and plant forests for the future generations...The scheme also tries to help children make stronger connections with nature - sitting around campfires, playing and drinking birch sap; guiding them through a four-step process of experiencing, imagining, planting and tending.”
In the past 6-12 months we've welcomed new Associate Trainers to the Cambium network based in numerous UK locations including; Gloucester, Plaistow, Caernarfon, Ruthin - as well as trainers in Cadiz in Spain and Dubai in United Arab Emirates!
Our Associate Trainers map is regularly updated so you can find a trainer that’s suited to your preferred location.
Enjoy the rest of Spring as it slowly turns into Summer! In the meantime, you can keep up to date on our socials ⬇️
